Water Service Replacement Project
We did a 50 Ft. open trench Replacement due to the Lateral being back pitched with heavy root infiltration at an Apartment Condo in Brookhaven, PA. From the Trap to the connection at the manhole.
Pipeline Excavation completed a Brookhaven PA sewer lateral replacement project at an apartment condo property. The existing lateral was back-pitched and had heavy root infiltration, so the line required a 50-foot open trench replacement from the trap to the connection at the manhole.
This project spotlight shows the site conditions, excavation work, sewer lateral replacement process, and field photos documented during the job. By replacing the affected section, the team addressed the poor pitch and root intrusion that were impacting the line.
Open trench sewer lateral replacement may be needed when an underground line has severe root intrusion, improper pitch, or structural issues that make repair less practical. For this Brookhaven project, the Pipeline Excavation team replaced the damaged section of sewer lateral from the trap to the manhole connection to help restore proper function.
